Prof. Dr. Arzucan Özgür
Arzucan Özgür is a faculty member in the Department of Computer Engineering at Boğaziçi University and co-director of the Text Analytics and Bioinformatics Lab (TABILAB). She earned her PhD in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Michigan in 2010, following her MS and BS degrees in Computer Engineering from Boğaziçi University. Her research focuses on natural language processing and bioinformatics, with an emphasis on developing methods to process and understand textual data in human languages and the language of biomolecules. She has received the Science Academy Young Scientist Award (BAGEP 2016) and the Turkish Science Academy Outstanding Young Scientist Award (TÜBA-GEBİP 2019). Her work has been supported by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye (TÜBİTAK), the European Union's Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (Career Integration Grant), and the European Research Council (ERC Consolidator Grant).
