STAR-GO Accepted in Bioinformatics

We are delighted to share that our paper, “STAR-GO: Improving Protein Function Prediction by Learning to Hierarchically Integrate Ontology-Informed Semantic Embeddings,” by Mehmet Efe Akça, Gökçe Uludoğan, Arzucan Özgür, and İnci M. Baytaş, has been accepted for publication in Bioinformatics.

STAR-GO presents a Transformer-based framework that combines the semantics and hierarchical structure of Gene Ontology terms to improve protein function prediction, including zero-shot prediction for previously unseen terms.
